A plain exterior built in 1715, dedicated to the patron saint o Dubrovnik St Blaise. Its worth a visit - just to get away from the crowds in the main street . You can sit and admire the marble altar and the baroque decorations.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 June 2023

It's fairly small, and just off Luza Square, near the Bell Tower and Orlando Column. After a hot and crowded walk down the Stradun, we enjoyed stepping into this church, which was cool and not very crowded, and sitting down to enjoy the relative quiet as we looked around to appreciate the fairly ornate altar. We only stayed about 10 minutes, but it was a lovely refuge and we enjoyed seeing it.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 September 2023
- dese2Auburn, New York2,687 contributionsAnother church with local significanceA Baroque Church in honor of the patron saint of Dubrovnik. This church is just at the far end of the Stradun at Luza Square. It was locked when we first arrived, so we went elsewhere - there is much more to see. We returned to a nun just coming up the front steps with a key. She opened the door and invited us indoors. The church was totally empty of people, so we looked around and sat a bit in the cool. It has some good art to see and the usual for a church. Look up the story of St. Blaise and why he is the patron saint of Dubrovnik to appreciate this spot.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 November 2023

Another lovely church with all the standard religious iconography but for me the modern looking stained glass windows really stood out and made it a bit different.

It was a lovely little church at the Ploce gate end of Stradun st.
We didnt go in as it was closed for the day when we went past but it was still a lovely looking little church so we got a photo as we went past.
It looked like it had some lovely stained glass window work in it as well.

Small but beautiful church right off the main street. Worth a few minutes just to stop and feel the calmness amongst the insanity of Dubrovnik

St Blaine has been the patron saint of Dubrovnik since the 10th century and was also the protector of the independent state of Ragusa. The church was built in 1715 on the site of a previous badly damaged church.

This is a cute church inside and out. It is usually open from 8:00 to about 17:30ish… This one is popular with the tourist as it is on the main street of Old Town. We went at opening hour and took pics without interference. Worth a visit for sure.

A qué hora ya es de noche en Dubrovnik? A qué hora la iglesia ya está iluminada en marzo?
Muchas gracias,

We just happened to walk in on a Sunday morning and a Mass was being said by a Korean priest for a Korean tour group. We joined in. Don't know if they have regular Mass times.
