It is what it is...

It's just a town gate you get what you see! It is amazing the sheer size of it and I recommend entering old town through this way.

The gate is a grand entrance to the Old town and obviously very busy, it's also a main drop off point too. Beautiful architecture. There are musicians playing music as you walk through the gate.

One of the gates to the old town, it is worth a photo even if you entered the old town through the other entrance.

I suppose you might call Pile (pronounced Pil-eh) Gate a separate sight, but in my opinion it is really part of the city walls. For most tourists it will be the place where they enter the Old Town. It consists of a stone bridge and a wooden drawbridge. There is one crisp example of stone carving above the gate. It... More

This is the most popular entrance to the old city. The main bus stop is nearby. So it's a busy place with people milling around. The gate itself has a draw bridge.

Each day we would walk into the old town through the impressive gate. It was one of my favourite walks. Sometimes there would be a busker playing a guitar very atmospheric.

his is just a gate for you to enter into the old town. You don't need to specially visit the gate because you will need to go through it anyway if you going into the old town. However, this gate will be a good way to find the old town for people taking bus. You just need to alight once... More

This is the main entrance into the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Most tourists would have been unloaded in this area to start their tours. If you wish to take a walk on the almost 2 km long stone wall that surrounds the town, turn left after entering through this gate and go to the ticketing office next to the St.... More

This is a beautiful entrance to old town from the area where buses (both tour and city) stop to let people off. Hard to miss.

The Pile Gate is a beautiful entrance to the old town and gives you a taste of what to expect inside. There is considerable construction happening underneath the walkway which is slightly ugly. Definitely something to see but doesn't take very long
