If you visit Dubrovnik, and you see one thing it has to be the Stradum. The second are the city walls.

The limestone-paved pedestrian street runs some 1000 Feet/300 meters through the Old Town, which is the historic part of the city surrounded by the Walls of Dubrovnik. Since it’s the main thoroughfare it was very crowded when we toured the site. There are plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, etc. to peak your interest or as a diversion from touring. If... More

A popular place so I am glad we visited just out of season to avoid the tour groups. It also meant we could eat wherever we wished in the old town, apart from Lady Pipi that we waited for ages as it is just so incredibly popular

Full of old shops, cafes with many side streets (alleyways off) To the left from Pile Gate most have many steps leading upwards and are narrow. If you want to find a restraunt look down the alleyways. Worth going up a level but horizontal to the main street to see what the cafes/ restraunts are like.

You can image the people living here 800 years ago whilst walking through. Once all the cruise ship merchants have left for the evening the street is lovely and quaint. No Starbucks or McDonald's, no rubbish too for that matter. We went mid May and was just before peak season. You'll always find something to eat and drink here.

If it werent so crowded. Im sure i would have a better look and stroll around the Stradun. Thousand years of history and yet till now it is still so stunning. Lots of cafes, gifts shop arond to chill the whole day. A must visit since this place is famous for it's King Landing.
