Everyone recommended visiting so we went one afternoon at around 4. The gardens were bare of any flowers. Although there was a sign apologizing for that. Didn't go swimming there although saw the spots and they were not nearly as nice as some of the...More

Spent a nice day on Lokrum Island. Easy access from the Old Town on a quick, regular Ferry service. Spent time swimming in the "Dead Sea",, and then took along walk up to Fort Royal, after visiting the Monastry, then back to the Dead Sea...More

Having struggled to find any space on the beaches on the mainland, we were advised by a local that Lokrum was much less crowed. Sure enough after a little walk around the island, we settled on a rocky area where it was quiet and with...More

This island is great to spend a day walking around, of just cooling off in the dead lake. Interesting wildlife and buildings, but be wary of the walk to the fort.... Up is tiring, down can be precarious. Wear decent walking shoes.

From the boat-loads of visitors going to the island it looks as though they'll be no space left on it! Far from true. It's a peaceful and cooler escape from the old town. Swimming (off rocks) is easy and the restaurant was very good. There's...More

The admission to Lokrum is 120 kunas including the boat trip from the Old Town. For children (5-15) 20 kunas. You can buy tickets in the old harbour, and this is the official Lokrum boat. If you take a taxi boat, you'll... More
