We visited this winery as part of a series of tastings from a Seaborne cruise excursion. Totally awesome experience and extremely friendly family who have run it since the 1400s. The grand daughter is an extremely talented, comical and articulate speaker which made the experience even better.

Took a tour to Winery Botara while we were staying in Dubrovnik to see a little bit of the countryside. It is a family run business and we were looked after by a charming young man. He talked about the wines and all the amazing things his Grandma produced. We enjoyed very generous servings of wine, fresh delicious bread and tasty cheese and charcuterie sitting in the sunshine. We then moved on to a table with sweet fruit wines and homemade sweets. We bought some cherry wine to bring home which is very useful in desserts. We didn't feel rushed at all. This is a very enjoyable outing

We did a private wine tasting here while we were in Dubrovnik. We were picked up at our hotel by Azra who is a friend of the family and works with the winery. We were greeted by the whole family, including grandma, and Anthony guided our wine tasting and food tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and bought 4 bottles of wine and a liqueur. The prices were totally reasonable,between €20 and €35 per bottle. Anthony was excellent at his job, charming and knowledgeable. It was the best day of our trip!!

Myself and my partner went to visit Winery Botaro last July and I can honestly say it was a day that I will never forget. It was the most beautiful place. The warm welcome we received from Matia (I think that was her name) and her family. Her hospitality was second to none. Her English was perfect. The wine and food was even better. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend a visit and I would love to return again one day.

We loved our wine tasting experience! Matea was a charming host and brought out a full spread of local cheeses, meats and vegetables upon our arrival. Most of us loved her grandmothers cheese the best. We then started our wine tasting which was a full glass for each different wine. The wine was delicious!! It's a beautiful setting, very relaxing, and you definitely leave happy! Great way to spend an afternoon.

We loved our wine tasting experience at Botaro. The wines were all great, and we enjoyed trying grandma's bread, fresh olive oil, the liqueurs, and dessert snacks. We learned a lot from speaking with the owner, both about the winemaking and Croatia's history and social culture. Highly recommend stopping here and we hope that they will ship wine to the U.S. in the future!

bit of driving to do, but along the way is very scenic! you will see the whole King's Landing Dubrovnik from above. this place is on Trip Advisor Traveller's Choice list for a few years, all the food, all the booze are from this family from scratch. good food, great time!

We booked this wine tour with 7 girls and it’s been a highlight of our trip!! They gave us 4 hefty tastings and shots after and the best homemade food we’ve had on our travels. We had Mattea and she was so lovely and they even organized taxis for us for our next destination. Thank you for a great trip!!

If you have a few free hours to go a little bit outside of the city, Winery Botaro is a must-see. This is hands down the best wine-tasting experience I have ever had and has probably ruined me for all other wine tastings. First in our communications with the winery during the booking process they were prompt in replying and super welcoming. We also appreciated how accomodating they were of our dietary restrictions. My boyfriend is vegetarian so they were able to do an entire cheese spread for us. The woman who led us through the tasting was so kind and knowledgeable. She explained how her family has owned the winery for more than 600 years and the wine isn't sold anywhere other than at the winery. We tried four different wines— Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Rose, and Chardonnay— and she gave us a really generous pour of each. I am not normally a wine lover, but every single wine tasted incredible. Our tasting guide led us through smelling each wine and pairing them with a specific fresh cheese was made by her grandma. The different cheeses were so flavourful and the first cheese we tried was the perfect amount of creamy. I've never had such good cheese, and I am a cheese lover haha. It was so fascinating to be able to taste how the cheese made the wine sweeter. After walking us through the wine, our guide left us to enjoy the winery together. We were the only people there and it was so nice to sit with my boyfriend and just talk. The atmosphere is so calm and peaceful. I honestly could have stayed there forever. Our cheese board also came with freshly baked bread that was to die for. My boyfriend was also obsessed with the olive oil and balsamic. Because we were there celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, they provided us both with a slice of the most fluffy cake that paired perfectly with the wine. It was just the right amount of sweet with a flavour that wasn't too overpowering. The cake was also made by the grandma, so kudos to her, can she be my grandma too? A few hours later our guide came back to do shots with us and my boyfriend and I tried the Cherry and the Walnut liquers. We really enjoyed both flavours and didn't end up trying any others because we were a little too tipsy. My boyfriend and I had such an incredible experience at Winery Botaro. We booked a tasting for 14:00 and ended up staying well into the evening because we were having such a good time enjoying the food and each other's company. For only 55 euros this was an incredible experience and we definitely got way more value out of it. We both ended up shopping at the little store and will definitely come back if we're ever in Croatia. Thank you Winery Botaro!

We booked this independently & took a taxi, €12 from Cavtat, there was only the 2 of us for the whole experience which was amazing. As well as being very informative Anthony was such a lovely, funny & personable host. He did say he was going to get us drunk & he was right. Not just a mouthful, but enough wine in your glass to appreciate the taste. Along with the gorgeous food, all of which were handmade or sourced from their family. The cheeses were so tasty & the wines were all delicious. Very friendly & altogether a fabulous afternoon spent.
