We stayed in Split 3 nights and on our daily run we passed the Peristyle around 6:45/7 am and not a soul in sight. We got fantastic photos. It really is a fantastic historical building.

Diocletian, the last pagan Roman emperor knew how to live a grand life. His grand palace grounds with sandstone structure looks amazing. This area is also where he had his living wife and daughter killed when he learned that they converted to Christianity.

Loved wandering through here during the day then we returned around 8.00pm to simply sit, relax and listen to music and have another wander in the late evening. Great visiting in October, means less people, few crowds.

A lovely area of the palace to hang out. The Luxor bar is there and they have live music and dancing in the evenings. Nice to chill there. A group wearing yellow t shirts hangs out around there offering tours of the palace. DO NOT...More
