Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Koda Sail are an excellently run company. Communication is extremely prompt, well organised and able to cater to changes and requests. The itinerary in the Maldvies was fantastic, the whole group had a great time. Would highly recommend them to all family and friends.

Amazing week in the Malvides with Lucas and Aiman. The only thing bluer than the ocean water were Aiman's eyes. Stunning location with two stunning guides. To swim in the water with such majestic creatures was a real treat..and I guess the sea animals weren't bad either. Well organised trip and fun was had by all. Cheers!

Extremely disappointed with my Koda Sail, Dalmatian Voyager - July 22nd 2023 cruise. Unfortunately the online reviews did not match our experience.
Cons
No safety briefing upon arrival
Boat encountered rough seas. Our 2 metre cupboard ripped out of wall and came crashing down. We were lucky to not be hurt. Food upstairs and bar fridge went flying - glass everywhere (numerous people cut their feet - even days later)
Mould in bathroom, no soap in dispenser, toilet paper not refilled, towels not replaced
Boat staff had a party whilst we were in town. Came home to find it over run with strangers all drinking our alcohol supplies and extremely loud music
Drinks more expensive than local bars
Pros
Met some lovely like minded travelers (most were in their 20s)
Croatia is absolutely beautiful on/off shore
Note -
I contacted Chris personally and he informed me that changes would be made to improve the Koda brand, service and safety - I hope for all future travellers this is the case
Additionally, for a company that has was founded in 2014, 194 reviews on Trip Advisor and 159 on Google (as of 10.10.23) is not many considering how many tours they would have done. I wish I had thought more about this prior to booking, and would personally do more research if I had my time again

I was seriously disappointed in this tour and the guide, Lucas. I would genuinely take a refund if Koda Sail offered me one. We attended the Split-Split Koda Sail trip in July 2023.
The tour was riddled with issues - the Tour Guide was disorganised, pressured passengers in attending paid excursions and took initial expressions of interests as binding, lied/said untruths about certain benefits (e.g. a three course meal each sitting, organising free entry into a club when it was just general public free entry before midnight), encouraged us to not pay for entry into Miljet National Park and break custom saying "the old lady can't catch you all" and he would call other company boats "refugee boats".
The facilities and attention by the crew was also disappointing - items/furniture were not fixed in the meal room and so in rocky weather the bar fridge smashed on the ground (breaking everything inside) and we cut our feet on glass days after this occurred, breakfast cereal was found uncovered in cupboards, the cost of drinks were more expensive than restaurants, food was cooked three to four hours before meal time and then warmed up.
The only benefit was the actual location and that the rooms were supplied with aircon (if you can stand the smell which would seep from the shower).
It was genuinely a mockery to say that the service was catered for young professionals.
I would take caution against booking with Koda Sail or at the least with the tour guide, Lucas.

Hi Bryn, thanks for your review.
I'm replying to this review for those that are reading it wondering why this review is out of the ordinary.
Firstly, we encourage you to read the many other reviews we have about Lucas. He is a professional guide who has nothing but love for our guests, and more than anything wants guests to have a great time. It is the most difficult job in the world to please all 40 guests and have them all on the same page with you. In this instance, we can see that you did not get along with Lucas which tainted your experience.
To say that he is disorganised is untrue. We know that all excursions and bookings were adhered to throughout the whole Summer. We have eyes and ears everywhere all week throughout Croatia to ensure everything runs as how it should, and everything ran as it should.
As for the excursions, you are given the documentation for the excursions months before your trip to allow you to decide which you will opt in for. On Day 2 of the tour, our guides need to lock in the excursions for the week as they are all pre-booked and we need to send through our final numbers. If you're still undecided at that point, then we encourage you to just say that you are not joining the excursion/dinner/activity. We don't mind either way, but please appreciate the fact that it is the peak of Summer and we need to have everything organised and the numbers we pass onto our suppliers are final. We need to respect our excursion suppliers/restaurants whom are relying on our business and our word of how many guests will be attending. They make special arrangements for us and allow us to not only have the best spots at their restaurants, but cut the line for the excursions all Summer and getting priority bookings. They knock back other business, knowing that the numbers that we give them are final.
Same goes for the Free entry that he organised at the nightclub. Did you notice the ticket he gave you at the door? Did you notice what happened to anyone else that was not part of the group when they got to the cashier counter...they had to pay! There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes that you are not privy to, nor should you as you are our guest. All you need to do is turn up, and we'll take care of the rest.
As for the freak storm that arose during your week, know that our boat got out lightly with just the small bar fridge being dislodged. Most other boats when pulling into port that day were all banged up inside. One boat didnt even make it and hit the rocks, needing to be rescued (yes, it nearly sunk!! google it!). My point here is that this bad weather is very rare, and that our boat was not the only effected. Also, it was not just rocky weather, it was a major storm.
Lastly, to say our tours were a mockery that the service was catered for young professionals, we encourage you to do more research and find another company that has long provided tours successfully in this category, and for a fare that is not greedy, that allows not only the more well-off guests to sail with us. A quick search and you can see that we are priced well under the Deluxe category. If that's where your expectations were, then they would have surely been missed.
If you're reading this and are still cautious about booking with us, then this tour is not for you. We provide tours for fun, free spirited, like-minded travellers aged late 20's to late 30's. We have a great team of staff, respected by locals and have provided tours to many happy guests over the past 10 years, backed up by our many reviews over multiple platforms

Koda Sail is the best way to vacation! Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. Having traversed 51 countries doing the 52nd with Koda Sail was awesome.
Lucas our vacation director made sure to wow my partner and me at every moment. Each port and stop was better than the next. The sail is tailored to like-minded, working professionals who want some physical activities and perfectly balanced with casual nights out. I personally loved that you could tap into or out of all that's offered. Though you'll want to do everything! We already want to book a next vacation with Koda Sail.

To say this trip was good would be an understatement. I’m primarily a solo traveler and tend to steer clear of group travel, but sailing Croatia has always been on my bucket list and I could not have picked a better company or group to go with. It was the perfect balance of “go go go” and chill time, with many opportunities for free time or well picked excursions. I made so many new lifelong friends and the vibe of our entire group was second to none. I would’ve done another week if I could.
Lucas as a guide was a focal point of the trip. He puts his heart into these trips week by week and does his best to ensure everyone is having a good time. He made an effort to connect with everyone individually and I appreciate how well he navigated every possible situation. The same effort was felt from the entire crew throughout the week. It was more personable that I expected and I’m so grateful for that.
For those interested in the practical details, each meal served on board is 3 courses and is something different every night. We also had dinners in town with recommendations from Lucas that were always a hit. The rooms were quite comfortable (as someone who hates sharing) though there are no fans in the bathroom so it can get quite musky after a few days. My roommate and I combatted this by opening all doors and windows while sailing to air things out! We did have many active days and excursions but if that’s not your thing you can simply hang around on the boat or go off on your own. You’re never forced into anything but if you’re like me and suffer from FOMO you *may* burn yourself out from doing all the things.
Overall, I would absolutely book another trip with Koda, and I can’t wait until the next time I see those I met on this trip. Until next time, Croatia!

What a week!! My partner & I had the most incredible week sailing Dubrovnik to Split with Koda Sail, Lucas & the team onboard. It's taken a week or two to process just how much we were able to experience & the work & passion that goes into creating these experiences for the guests.
The Koda Sail team work to create an inclusive, safe environment whilst ensuring you have every opportunity to experience everything Croatia has to offer.
Be prepared for a jam packed, action filled week where you will meet the most incredible people, make friends for life, step outside of your comfort zone, eat the most delicious food, swim in the most beautiful waters & make memories that will last a lifetime.
Make sure you check out the excursions page on the Koda Sail website ahead of time so you can be prepared with what additional experiences you want to do - I highly recommend the Zip Lining, my favourite part of the whole trip.

This trip was above and beyond my expectations! Not only is Croatia a beautiful and culturally rich country but the people were so nice and welcoming. The crew on the boat was amazing and really made us feel at home. Lucas and Koda Sails perfectly hit the target balancing fun and relaxation. They take good care of us and foster an environment of inclusivity and wonder. The people we met will be life long friends, and I can’t wait to go on my next trip with them. Special shout out to Lucas who really took great care of us and helped get me out of my comfort zone.

Our week sailing in Croatia (September 9 to 16, 2023) was exceptional thanks to Koda Sail. It was a perfect balance of relaxing and partying and definitely lived up to its reputation of being for young professionals.
The rooms were good and the bathrooms were spacious. The only downside to the bathrooms was that there was no fan so it did stay quite wet after showers and this made it hard for bathing suits and towels to dry. The air conditioning was life changing and the crew worked quickly to fix a minor outage that occurred. The meals on board were delicious and included a wide variety of food each day to please everyone.
The swim stops each day were phenomenal. The optional excursions were thoughtful and well planned. The river rafting was relatively calm with a few smaller scale rapids. The zip-lining was a highlight and includes 8 separate zip lines through beautiful scenery.
Our guide Lucas did a great job. You can tell he truly cares about everybody and he goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is having a good time. He puts in long hours each day and it didn’t go unnoticed.
We would not hesitate booking another tour with Koda Sail in the future!
