"JP" Pablo and Mono were the most enthusiastic and experienced guides we could have asked for on our Pacaya afternoon day-hike. Our teenage kids had a great time, food was great, this was a highlight of our Guate trip. Much thanks to everyone at Old Town.

As expected, the hike itself is a bit of challenge for those who do not exercise regularly. The almost constant incline on the way up becomes a slippery slope on the way down. Do yourself a favor and get a walking stick at the town below, and take it slow on the loose gravel. If you really love your knees,... More

Well I decided to treat myself to a overnight camp and spa. I had two really great guides Luis and Alejandro. The guides were helpful and I had a fab time with them on the camp and got the most beautiful sunset ever! It was such an adventure finding a baby rattle snake at night, finding puppies everywhere, sharing stories... More

We were a group of 4 friends who really aren't hikers but were told this hike was "easy" so we figured we'd give it a try. This hike wasn't easy. It was considerably more steep then any of us had thought it would be. Our guide Alex and local guide Monkey, were the absolute best and helped us all the... More

We did the overnight trip on Acatenango. It was an amazing adventure and our guides did an excellent job. Highly recommend for outdoor enthusiasts that want a true taste of what Guatemala has to offer.

We did the Acatenango overnight hike, it was excellent! Joshua was our guide and looked after us very well. The hike was a challenge, but well worth it for the view from the top - especially when Fuego erupted during the night - wow! The food he prepared was great, really tasty! They provided good quality, clean camping equipment. Would... More

Great trek of Pacaya, Alex and Monkey were very knowledgeable guides and made the day fun and interesting. Great picnic with local foods, the highlight was making s'mores on the volcano!

We booked a day trip to Pacaya Volcano, a popular attraction near Antigua, Guatemala. We are seniors and rode horses, others in our small group walked. It was a beautiful and interesting experience. Terrific bilingual guide, Alex and local guide, "Monkey" from the village. We felt totally secure and learned a lot. Great vistas and lava landscapes. We had a... More
