Nice church

This church is located right next to the central park. The facade is absolutely beautiful and worth checking out if you're in Antigua.

It's an active church, so you can see services when you are there. There was a service when I was there, so I didn't go in the front, but the back is open and it's a really cool ruin. It's right there at the Parque Central, so well worth the visit

The building is in the city center. Elegant and well preserved. It is recommended to see it illuminated as well.

This is a must see when you travel to Antigua. The exterior is just beautiful and the inside of the church is lovely. There is lots to see in the plaza and area near the church.

When we arrived early January, the stately Spanish-style government building, filling one side of Parque Central, was covered with small sparkling lights. Lights also twinkled from trees in the park and other surrounding buildings including Cathedral de Santiago. A procession of suited government officials made it's way from mass in the Cathedral to the speeches and ceremonies both outside and... More

Yes, the front of the building is beautiful and there are municipal offices and a library contained there, but the greatest thing is the tour of the back of the building. The cathedral has been only partially restored and the arches and carvings really should be seen to get a true appreciation of the history of this landmark. Pay the... More

Bordering the northern parts of Plaza Central Park, this attraction is easy to find. It has the Municipalidad, Museo de Libro de Antigua and Museo de Santiago according to the Antigua map that I have. I simply took pictures of the plaques on its outside walls, signifying its importance. I plan to visit it on a weekday next time I'... More

Historical marker in the center of Antigua. An interesting location for night photography as well with wide angle lens, bring a tripod and wide angle lens for long exposures.

This is one of the many buildings you can view from the plaza. It's the great thing about the plaza. You can walk around it full circle and see all the historical buildings in Antiqua.

Wander upstairs to the balcony to take better pics of the town square. Use the arch as a frame to capture a photo of the volcano and cathedral. Picnic lunch upstairs on one of the benches, and enjoy the view without any crowds.
