We are a 76-year-old Australian couple who came on a five-day trip to Guatemala, based on the recommendation and photos of a friend. We were a bit apprehensive given the warning on travel advisory websites. We need not have worried. Because of excellent tour guides, we were complexly safe. In Antigua, we could safely walk the streets at night alone.... More

What a fabulous experience. There were just three of us cooking and our two teachers. I would thoroughly recommend this class if you visit Antigua.

this school has so much of what you would look for r a total food experience. Ana took us to the market which was a real treat. She really knows her stuff. Then off to school. We got to pick our menu of a main three sides and desert and got involved with every aspect of the cooking. Indeed we... More

$49 for a 2 to 3 hour cooking/culinary course of typical colonial Guatemalan food. Amazing amazing amazing. Highly recommend it to all. Very thorough. Very friendly. And you get to enjoy the "food" of your labors afterward. In my case, my family is at our rental house. The school packed everything up to go. My family will be basking in... More

Our whole family (kids aged 10 and 12) loved learning to make traditional Guatemalan dishes! You get to choose your menu if you reserve ahead of time, and we chose family favorites- tamales, rice, and guacamole. It was delicious, and the recipes are well within reach to replicate at home. Highly recommended.

This was my first time at this school, but my second time doing a cooking event in Antigua. We got there a little early. We were happy to wait until it was time. We were encouraged to go to the restaurant bar for a drink. We were not interested because we knew we would get wine during the event. Our... More

We took the market tour and cooking class. Ana and Mateo took us to the market to purchase some of the ingredients for our class. We were able to taste many fruits and other delicacies that were new to us. Ana and Mateo were very knowledgeable about Antigua and Guatemala. We stopped on the way back at an exhibition site... It is not that you are coming to learn hot to prepare and cook latin dishes........but where you are is a wonderful experience in itself...!! When you are arriving into the city of Antigua, you are mesmerized by the towering volcanoes, the lush vegetation, and the architecture that takes you back in time .....hundreds of years! The city is very... More

Wife and I went to cooking school last week and had so much fun. Our cook Felisa and our translator Ana were so charming and engaging that this turned out to be one of our favorite experiences in Antigua. Very casual and laid back. Felisa let us participate as much or as little as we wanted . One of the... More
