We enjoyed an afternoon at Hilli Goat and it was beyond expectations. The low key advetisement has you thinking you will visit the first goat farm on Norfolk and enjoy some freshly made goats cheese. Wow it was so much more! Emily and her family are so inviting it's like visiting old friends. Our two sons were invited in to play and feed the goats and then we were treated to a divine tasting plate, lunch and dessert in the family home. This was a highlight from our Norfolk visit which has been slightly marred by you know what with many aspects of the community still recovering from the pandemic. We highly recommend a visit to Hilli Goat. A note to Emily and family....my husband's very articulate message "they're punching above their weight. They could be hatted. I wonder if they do takeaway?" The takeaway part was because a reservation for dinner was cancelled again due to you know what and we were struggling to find somewhere to eat. I bought the last packet of pasta and some bacon and cream and made a less that lacklustre carbonara!

As others have said this activity was the highlight of our stay on Norfolk Island. Meeting Emily and her family, including their goats, and hearing their history of setting up the farm and learning how it is managed was fascinating but the most delightful part was the wonderful late lunch that they provided. Set out on an airy veranda overlooking the beautiful valley in front of their house was the most amazing array of fresh salads, bread, cheeses and fish all produced locally and prepared perfectly.. This came with, wine and ginger punch and followed with a delicious pear cake and creme brûlée. We were so pleased our tour operator warned us not to eat before we went!

Emily, the owner is an amazing woman. On the tour you feed her goats while listening to the story of how the herd came to be. Then you move onto the cheese shed and an explanation of the process and a quick taste of fresh chèvre. The highlight, however, is the 3 course lunch that follows. All cooked by Emily and her family. On our tour, we started with a platter of fresh seasonal vegetables, crackers , fresh chèvre, a smooth dip of fresh cheese and a fruit relish. Then to wash this down you were served a jug of grapefruit mint and sodawater. Our main was a bowl of trumpeter curry with homemade naan and a lime and chilli pickle. To finish was Emily’s family’s coconut island pie.
This is a must do for any visitor to Norfolk Island.

What a truly special day our group of four friends enjoyed with a farm tour and amazing lunch hosted by Emily and her family team.
The tour was informative and interesting including the opportunity to feed the goats, with Emily being a friendly and professional guide.
Lunch featuring goat cheese and other fresh and tasty produce from the farm was served on the deck at the back of her beautiful home with stunning views of Norfolk Island.
Simply delightful and highly recommended.

This was one of my favourite activities during our stay. The goats were so cute and the story behind their existence on the island was both interesting and informative. The lunch that was provided was amazing - samples of their cheeses with other beautiful condiments and pickles etc. and it was huge! Just loved the dahl!

This is a MUST when travelling to beautiful Norfolk Island. Emily and her family welcome you into her home for an incredible meal with the most delightful views. A small tour of the goat farm and some history about the farm first then lunch is served. Everything is fresh from the farm and you can tell!! Amazing food and service...thank you Emily and Zach and family for the lovely experience!!

Had the pleasure of visiting here recently. Heard all about the evolution of the goat farm and cheese business on the island. Lovely walk through to the milking shed then a light lunch beautifully presented at her home. Also available to purchase is their low allergy goats milk face cream and stunning photography.
Such a beautiful location, cheeses and food delicious!!
Highly recommend a visit.

Hilli Goat was one of those experiences where you had an idea in your mind (I.e. Pat the goats, hear their story and taste some cheese) which does not quite match the experience. Don’t misunderstand we were happy with the idea of patting, storytelling and tasting but oh my this was so much more! We heard the story, we got up close and personal with the goats and then we were served with a spectacular spread of local cuisine. Everything from freshly made goats cheese, lentil curry, spiced veges, zucchini slice, poached fish and handmade donuts with vanilla bean ice cream. Emily and her family are so friendly and their passion for the land/sea to plate is one to be admired. I highly recommend a visit. My only complaint was the universe and its desire to rain! Thank you so much for sharing. X

Lovely morning visit here with the platters of food presented beautifully. The lady told us about how it started up and obviously enjoys her work. Nothing was a problem and dealt with in delightful fashion. We got to visit the goats and pat them which was fun. A lovely island attraction. came here as part of a scenic tour and so glad I did.

We loved our afternoon at The Hilli Goat. Our kids loved meeting the baby goats and the banana smoothies made with goats milk. The food served at lunch was amazing. Such a great variety of home cooked foods using local produce. And then the location just tops it off, a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean with space for the kids to play on the grass. A great place to just settle in and enjoy a lovely afternoon.
