Such a beautiful spot with such a sad history attached to it. If you can I would recommend the ghost tour around here as well.

It was amazing to visit this area but also very sobering especially walking the pier and thinking of the people who walked before us. The buildings and history was interesting. Such a beautiful settling for those poor souls who were transported as convicts.

You need a car to get here, as there are no pavements and it's a bit scary walking round some of the bends (I speak from experiewnce). It's also a long way back up! Very interesting site, but can be depressing because of its convict...More

Great to walk around and see the remains of the old jail and hear its history. Magnificent old stone wall still surrounds the site.

The history of the island and it's different inhabitants is well displayed in this historic area. The tag along tours are also great for learning some of the personal stories. Well presented and each of the 4 museums has something unique to offer.
