Very helpful people. They have Nice displays, and a book exchange. A bit expensive as the rest of Cocos

Every visitor to Cocos should visit the visitor centre to obtain information and look at the various displays. The only problem is they don't really have good maps of West or Home Islands - they're lacking in detail and, on our arrival, some of our people (we were a group of 28) didn't know where to find their accommodation.

The Visitor Centre is a great starting point on the Island for information on tours and attractions. Staff are very friendly and prices are reasonable. Cocos Island is a snorkler's paradise, and it you forget your gear, you cn always buy a set og=f goggles and snorkel; here at a rrasonable price. the only thing they did not stock when we were there, which I hope they do now of=r very soon, is reef shoes which you will need if you dont want to cut your feet of the reef.

Great little information centre.
The ladies in here are very helpful and know all the activities and tours available across the Islands. Good for renting snorkels & fins also.
Small shop in here with some tourist type gifts and also the coupons for internet access whilst you are on island.

A big thank you to the staff from the Cocos Island Visitors Centre. Make this your first stop if you come to the island. We booked all our tours on the day we arrived because we didn't want to miss anything. The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and helped us plan everything. We would recommend all the tours. I have posted reviews already for the motorised canoe safari and snorkelling with sea scooter tours which were both wonderful. I would also recommend the glass bottom boat tour with Pete, and the cultural tour to Home Island. If you visit Home Island make sure you call in to Kate Ku for a bite to eat. The food is great.
