The drive up the mountain is excellent. Once you get to the top it's absolutely beautiful panoramic views of all the surroundings. The beacon memorial is a sight to see.

It's a great drive to the top and then there are a variety of hikes available. We loved the overlook hike and then maybe a mile or so back on the Appalachian Trail. And then some really good chilli at the lodge! Lovely hiking.

There was a dog on our corridor there, and it was a problem as the dog barked every time one of us went down the hall to our rooms.

We just used Google maps, but we have a good nose for direction. Once you're on the road to the summit, there's nowhere else to go. Same thing coming down.
