We attended the Lights on the Bay just after the holidays on the last opening weekend. It was just as lovely as I remember from a child. It's a great fundraiser and a unique local event.

Sandy Point makes for an easy, breezy way to escape to the beach. The grassy areas are great for sitting and lounging, much nicer than sand. You can sit in the shade or sun yourself with some privacy. It's also a nice area to walk...More

Located on the Annapolis side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, the Park has a wide sand beach with a great full-length view of the Bridge. Parking is ample. Picnicking areas abound. $5/person entrance fee.

Swimming, fishing, and boating on the shores is the way to go. It's controlled by the Maryland state park system, but they are laid back a bit on the drinking. It didn't Fill To Capacity on my visit, but the Ranger claimed it does.

No IDs needed to enter the park but there is a day use fee. Not sure about boating fees. Those probably can be found on the park website.

I go several times a week all summer long and have never seen any here. I have seen jellies in the nearby rivers (South and Severn), however.
