Ego Alley isn't an alley but instead is the docking location fot boat visitors to Annapolis. For boaters there are slips for rent overnight or longer and for non boaters the wide sidewalks make it a good place to stroll, watch boats, stop to eat at numerous restaurants and fast food places within a block or less. There are public... More

To me this is a place where you take your time. Stroll along the water, look at the beautiful boats, enjoy the wildlife (ducks), shop at local small businesses along the way. You can even sit on the seawall to watch the sailboat. There are many restaurants, art galleries, tea shops, tourist information, harbour master and a maritime museum. This... More

My wife's father had a 48 ft. Norwegian Sail boat circa 1906. She grew up First Mate so she tried to educate me about the boats. Not the 14 foot fishing boat my father and I had when I grew up. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed the walk and sights.

What a way to spend an hour or two. Beautiful boats, cruisers, yachts moored, under power, sailing in and out of the harbor or docking just feet from where you are sitting. I was told its name is possibly derived from the size of the owners ego's to own these magnificent yachts. Take a break, buy an ice cream or... More

Boats, boats, boats...small to large (and very large) lined up along and just outside the Annapolis Harbor at the origin of Main Street. Walk along the water, gaze at the boats, feed the ducks and grab some ice cream at Storm Bros. Maybe grab a water taxi to Eastport or hop on a water tour.

If in Annapolis, this is a great place to just sit, relax and watch the boats. Great location. Surrounded by shops and restaurants not far away.

You can't visit Annapolis without spending some time at the City Dock. Formerly the home port for Maryland Waterman. Visit the heart and soul of this waterfront town.

If you are a sailor, you must visit Annapolis at least once. The downtown, with its famous "Ego Alley" - i.e. where boats can dock to visit the town - is fun, filled with boats from around the world, beautiful and very user-friendly with lots of places to walk, sit, get a water taxi, a tour boat, eat out on... We came in for the boat show and fell in love with the area. All the shops, taverns, restaurants was incredible. Cannot wait to come back.
