Founded in 1986, Abita was the first craft brewery to open in the Southeast. Today, we produce 160,000 barrels of beer annually in a range of great tasting, unpretentious styles including Abita Amber, Purple Haze, and Wrought Iron IPA. Located just north of New Orleans, we recently completed a three-year, $30 million state-of-the-art expansion of the brewery that will increase our capacity to 400,000 barrels while introducing groundbreaking environmental advancements to the brewing process.

We took our extended family to this tour while everyone was in town for Thanksgiving. We all had a great time. Dennis, our tour leader, explained everything in the brewery and gave an excellent tour. My entire family had a great time...even the non-beer drinkers. It costs $5 an adult and with that you get 4 tokens to get a... More

We went to the Abita Brewing Company for the tour. You can get 4 tastings with your tour fee of $5.00. We also decided to taste some of the experimental beers and review them. There is a bar area with games and tables to enjoy hanging out after the tour. Abita is a pretty little town.

What a great brewery! The beer is fantastic, the tour is great, and after the tour you have an opportunity to taste four beers as part of the experience. All for $5! Amazing! One of our favorite places to go to when we are at the north shore in Louisiana. Great for couples, friends going out for a couple of... More

I'm going in a few weeks for the tour. I haven't been yet, but I love their product--all natural and Louisiana!

Stopped in for a tasting. They have a nice selection of beers. Something for everyone. Loved the Amber, The Boot and The Big Easy. Had a self tour as it was a Monday. Nice video explaining the process. Very impressive. Staff is friendly and helpful. Well worth the visit.

I have been on many brewery tours and they only offered the self guided tour when we were there. I would not recommend doing the self guided tour and go directly to the tasting room. It was nice trying many different beers they make. Also they have a very nice gift shop.

Informative tour that highlights Abita's amazing efforts at minimizing their environmental impact and optimizing energy efficiency. Also, $5 for a guided tour that includes four 4-oz tasters is a great deal anywhere!

Friendly environment. The bartenders and staff very informative. We were lucky to get a personal tour since we were the only ones that booked the tour at 12:30. Got to taste most of their beers. Great place to hang out and relax. Wish we lived closer to visit more often.
