Founded in 1986, Abita was the first craft brewery to open in the Southeast. Today, we produce 160,000 barrels of beer annually in a range of great tasting, unpretentious styles including Abita Amber, Purple Haze, and Wrought Iron IPA. Located just north of New Orleans, we recently completed a three-year, $30 million state-of-the-art expansion of the brewery that will increase our capacity to 400,000 barrels while introducing groundbreaking environmental advancements to the brewing process.

In town on business and stopped by for a visit after work. Missed the daily tours but the kind bar keep offered a video tour for free. She was awesome and went beyond the call of duty. Also got to sample a bunch of the beers. My favorite has always been the Amber but the Macchiato Milk Stout is incredible.... More

The tour is cool to do will also give you 4 tasting coins to use for tasting. They also have a tap room. The Boot (Louisiana exclusive) is good light beer, Wrought Iron IPA stronger than the Big Easy IPA (has a better taste), Mardi Gras is real good, Peach great smell and taste, Orange is good also, 30th Anniversary... We drove up to visit Abita Brewing whole we were visiting New Orleans for NYE 2016-17. The drive up took about 50 minutes and allowed us to drive across the Pontchartrain Causeway, which is the longest bridge over a continuous body of water in the world. The brewery offers tours of the facilities, although they were not available the day... More

Drove up here from the French Quarter as a day trip. Well worth the trip and a great change of pace from the crowds in downtown New Orleans

We've been here several times over the past few years and it never gets old. They develop new beers on a yearly basis and have the old standbys too. For $5 you get the tour and 4 tokens to taste four different beers in 4 oz glass. They have craft soda too so bring the kids. The King Cake Soda... More

Such a fantastic tour I can not believe it was free. We had a fabulous time on the tour and an even better time at the tasting. The guides were super knowledgeable and knew just how to keep everyone interested. I really liked how they helped you create your own mixes at the tasting. Abita beer is so good I... More

We took our extended family to this tour while everyone was in town for Thanksgiving. We all had a great time. Dennis, our tour leader, explained everything in the brewery and gave an excellent tour. My entire family had a great time...even the non-beer drinkers. It costs $5 an adult and with that you get 4 tokens to get a... More
