The statues have good descriptions and are in English so it is a good place to visit if you like Catholic churches and speak English. It is not really big but it is worth a few minutes to wander around and say a pray.

Not much gold, but historic frescos and terra-cotta decor. We visited during the Christmas season and could admire some beautiful nativity scenes.

I'm not generally a fan of touring cathedrals, but I was taken to this cathedral as part of a Spanish lesson. You must ask permission to go into the back room where the diorama is kept. It' s a large display about the various stories...More

This is the greatest collection of nativity scenes from all over the world. Well worth going to see it. You need to ask about wanting to see it.

This well maintained church prides itself in a unique miniature diorama of different scenes from the bible. It is quite large and detailed. The church itself is very atmospheric though the facade is blocked by a new building!

In Casco Antiguo, on a corner of Plaza Bolivar, this little chapel is easy to miss. It's a white building with no fanfare. Inside, it is a lovely serene place. Recently, a local family from the Obarrio neighborhood donated the amazing family collection of "the...More

This is a must see when visiting Casco Viejo. The architecture is gorgeous. What we found even more captivating was the Nativity Scene. There is no signage for it but the hostess showed us the way through the double doors at the back of the...More
