Panama’s first national park, this one was created thanks to a landscape created by the now-extinct El Valle de Antón volcano. Avid bird-watchers will love it here, as will visitors who want to take in the incredible views from the park’s lookout spots.

You need a good guide for this excursion. We hiked into the hills, where it was cool and refreshing, a welcome change from Panama City. Our kids loved this day - while it wasn't a long hike (2 km each way) to the top where...More

We spent about a two hours here and really enjoyed the scenery. Like other parks, full of interesting fauna and just general beauty.

I had the chance to accompany a group having a biology class on site. If you have the chance to get a guide, you can learn so many things! Even on your own, it's a wonderful park.

Really cool set of hiking paths. The park starts at the top of a mountain overlooking a cliff. According to the park ranger, there are 11 large cliffs you can rappel. Apparently, you rappel down one, hike to the next and so on. Can't wait...More

I think it is a nice place to go. To feel the natural ambiance and take advantage of an amazing panoramic view to admire the mountains and the seaside landscapes. It is easy to get there.

No markings that I can remember. However it is a loop. Cannot get lost. Wear good runners/hiking shoes. Slippery in rainy season.
