Panama’s first national park, this one was created thanks to a landscape created by the now-extinct El Valle de Antón volcano. Avid bird-watchers will love it here, as will visitors who want to take in the incredible views from the park’s lookout...more

If you are driving on your own to the beach hotels in the Panamanian Pacific, I do suggest you take a quick detour to this National Park, there is photo stop within 15-20 mins from the Panamerican Road, worth the visit. If you are adventurous...More

This hike is one of the most difficult we have done in Panama. Sendero La Cruz will take about 3 hours including the return. Some of the areas are muddy even during summer (dry) season. The view from the top at the Cross is worth...More

I love Campana. Good for a quick hiking. Great views. Just take a good pair of hiking boots and go climb a mountain.

I find this hike medium in difficulty. It has a great view from the top, where the cross is. The trail is ok, you wont get lost, so no worries, but is slippery thou.

Very confusing place to hike. At least the paths. We didn't get it right and were actually hiking a different path than we intended. But hey, was a good hike after all, with a great view of the mountains and the coastline.

Altos de Campana is located just 45 min drive from Panama City. There are various hiking nature trails as well as observation decks that offer expansive views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding areas.

Happened to be a very rainy day, still the drive was pleasant and the vistas beautiful. Gives you a real feel for the Panamanian mountainous countryside

No markings that I can remember. However it is a loop. Cannot get lost. Wear good runners/hiking shoes. Slippery in rainy season.
