Modern visitors center with an exhibition about the canal worth checking. The terrace-viewing area is large and amazing seeing large ships almost touching the concrete banks of the canal. We were lucky to see a cruising ship as well as a couple of cargo ships passing by. Must see attraction. You can't see an new large locks which are further... More

We spent half of a day here. We really enjoyed the movie. The museum is just okay. Either visit in the morning or the afternoon to see boats traveling through. We got a great viewing spot and waited patiently for a boat to go through. I am glad we did because as the boat approached, people flooded in and crowded... More

Was great! Our tour guide tour did not give us directions or recommendations on what to do here. We were confused once in the building.

Seeing a place you have learned about since childhood like the Panama Canal is a great experience. The museum is a great filled with history of the canal and many pictures to show you its history. The movie shown is equally great to go through the political history of the canal. But the best is when you see the actual... More

Great place to get an idea of the history of the canal and how it works. The view of the Miraflores locks is excellent as you are right there and can see the huge container ships going by within touching distance. Well worth it

We spent 1/2 a day going through the museum, viewing the ships transiting the canal and also saw the film. The history, facts, etc on each floor of the visitor center are very informative and well laid out. Great place to learn about the canal and history. Staff are very helpful.

Engineering marvel. Any visit to Panama would be incomplete with a visit to the locks. Well done documentary film on the building of the locks and the new addition.

The second set of locks is operational and amazing to watch. Gatun Lake is quite spectacular and the views from the observation walkway are stunning. The 15 minute documentary is a must and if you can, try to spot the sloths that live in the trees.

You can't come to Panama and not stop by the Canal. It's a $15 entry for tourists, which feels a little steep, but ultimately worth it. There are several viewing decks that give a nice lookout over the locks, as well as a multi-floor museum. There is also an introductory video that gives a good history of the Canal itself.... More
