What a great place! Fun, energized, places for dinner and drinking on rooftop locations spouting up! Felt safe plenty of police and tourists. The history and old structure of buildings everywhere...you must visit at least one night...close to Allbook airport and Ave Balboa.

This area is small and mostly under construction. There are a few places to see but not so many. If you want, you can leave visiting this area until your last day as it is mostly for shopping. There are tons of small shops there carrying all types of Panama souvenirs. There was one soft yogurt shop by the name... More

I guess you "have" to see the old city, but if you have ever been to old cities this is nothing special. In fact much of it is being renovated and given a face lift, which makes it even less appealing. A couple of hours is plenty of time; the canal and Amador Causeway are far more interesting.

We had the opportunity to stay in the Tantalo Hotel in the old city. The hotel was excellent. Staying in the old city among the bombed ruins and the massive restoration efforts to duplicate the 1500's was truly a wonderful experience. Super shopping, outside of the typical tourist traps was delightful. The parks and gardens were charming. The sites and... More

The Casco Viejo, the oldest neighborhood of Panama, is a work in progress - but that work has been well underway for awhile now. It continues on the restoration work of the historic buildings, in the care and stablizing of stone walls from the colonial era. Meanwhile, it has become the liveliest and most interesting entertainment district in Panama City!... More

We must of been here like 3-4 times while in Panama. This place reminds you of New Orleans with the style of housing. A lot of nice restaurants and cute shops here. Also a nice viewing area of the city. A definite must visit when you come to Panama. I am not sure if there's any public transportation around, but... More

Love old Panama, cobbled streets, old buildings, the upgrade to this area is amazing. The contrast between the restored and the yet to be restored is impressive. Tons of very nice restaurants and rooftop bars with great views. Traffic is heavy, but some streets are closed because of restoration. So, so safe - in this area you have the national... More

I visited Casco twice, once during the day and came back oin the evening for dinner. Both times it was a nice experience. The entire area is basically restaurants, bars and small shops, with a few squares thrown in for good measure. The buildings are nicely restored. The area was bit of Old Havana, New Orleans and Merida all mixed... More

Nice place. Actually is very renovated and there is a lot of restaurant and coffe shop to go. The Night Life is amazing. It ends at 3 am. Parking is a big issue. I recommend to go with Uber or Local Taxi. To find a parking space is really difficult.

Nice old architecture and some touristy shopping. Plenty of restaurants and bats to pick from and enjoy.
