Out of the way but a hidden gem

The botanical gardens are amazing. So many interesting species. The animals are housed in very unattractive conditions and are very limited.

If you want to see some local animals this is the place to go. There are some few animals left. Tapir, Local Monkeys, Tucan. There is very nice observatory of the Arpia Eagle, Panamanian National Bird. Nice place to have a picnic.

We booked a visit to the park as part of a tour. What an incredible waste of time and money. The park is run down and the animals look sad and depressed, crammed into tiny cages. Don’t waste your time on a visit – go anywhere else.

For Europeans this zoo might be a little depressing. Many of the cages are way to small and sometimes quite derelict. They have a nice variety of animals, the main attraction being the harpy eagle. Since is its only 5$ entrance for foreigners, it might be a nice way to spend your afternoon, but I'd much more recommend going to... More

I did not like this place very much. Many animals are housed in small unsuitable cages or enclosures. There are very few signs to identify trees, which seems odd for a place that is part botanical garden.

This is truly a magical place. It's a must see for kids. A lovely place for any member of the family. There is lots to see and do. The animals are amazing. This I think is a whole day affair

Located in the "central park" the garden is quite large. Also included are butterflies of all species. It is humid and warm but worth the visit,

This is spread out over quite an area. I like the thought that the animals are all rescues or rehabs. Very inexpensive, too. My husband and I went a couple of years ago and we both enjoyed it. Two of our grandkids are coming for a visit this winter so we'll be taking them to the zoo.

As tourist you pay $5 for the visit, we didn't get the information that no access to the Leopard's cages was possible. When visiting the house of the National Eagle, there was a blackout. If your trip in Panamá is short; better you spent in other placea.

This was an adorable zoo! The beautiful gardens are worth going to see even besides the animals! They have tons of huge bamboo planted in such a way that you can walk into a room and be surrounded by this beautiful vegetation! Gorgeous flowers/plants/trees everywhere! They have a huge harpy eagle! There's a little shack that sells hot dogs and... More
