Not sure why this place is even on TripAdvisor. It is a place where regular people work/live/shop. Nothing trip-worthy here in my opinion. Just beyond average. Normal day-to-day living occurs here.

Avenida Central is LOUD, and it's typical of many city streets. The street, which is now closed to all vehicle traffic, except for cross sections, starts at the Plaza de Cinco de Mayo and leads to Casco Viejo, or the newly gentrified section of Old...More

The equivalent of visiting a Walmart in the USA to see how regular people live. Perhaps decades ago Avenida Central was home to traditional craft stores and fruit/food stands, but today this street is lined with appliance, electronics and cheap clothing stores. My guidebook suggested...More

Avenida Central is a long avenue connecting the old part of Panama city (Casco Viejo) with the new. From Plaza 5 de Mayo, where the last and most interesting section of Avenida Central starts, it is a pedestrian zone most of the way with many...More

I think it's not a place for tourist - especially part of Avenida Central in San Miguel. We've walked the street from market Super 99 down to Casco Viejo and it could be very scary experience for some people. San Miguel is one of the...More

This was a fun way to spend the afternoon. While the shops themselves are a bit run down, it's a cool place to hang out and pick up a bargain, or some food. There are some gems hidden in some of the stores as well....More

This so called pedestrian Mercado was quite useless. Mostly furniture stores, a few Clothing stores, not really colorful or lively. Don't waste your time.
