Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not a big place. You can find exhibits from traditional clothings for women and men here. Also traditional wedding dresses and the prices of these traditional clothes are more expensive than I expected. There are also some accessories on display. Nothing much else here so visit only if you have the time.

Finally had a chance to go to Mi Pueblito during the long weekend. Entrance fee is 1 usd for residents. It is interesting but it definitely needs more things to make it more attractive for tourists. It would be great if they can have some signs in English to explain the displays. They can also do some more cleaning up and general up keep. There was a guide Jose, who approached us and explained things which was a good thing otherwise we would have left earlier.

Mi Pueblito is a very well conceived atraction. We visited it on sunday and due to its location we have to take Uber to go there.
We find a native guide who were very knowlable about the place.
There you can learn about diferent cultures, races that polulated Panama in time.
Unfortunately like in other attractions we have visited in Panama there was no public attending the exihibition.
If you are not knowledgeable about the origens of Panama, its people and their way of living this is definitely a place you should visit.

Mi Pueblito was once a gleaming idea in someone's head that never quite came off; the idea being to replicate a typical village from a hundred years past and fill in the gaps with souvenir shops and craft items. And one very well designed & executed example of metal art work by a contemporary artist that was definitely worth viewing as a bonus.
However, what you have in reality is a couple of short blocks with a sample of the architecture, some small shops and a very few antique tools and gorgeous but dingy samples of national costume all basically nestled up between a hillside and a freeway. The buildings were replicas, as noted, including the dark, somewhat gilt church with thick heavy doors....somber & the kind of place that always makes you re-examine the re-distribution of income. In one of the outer lying buildings I did watch a woman stitching the world famous reverse application, multi-layered colorful Molas. I felt uncomfortable staring at her as she worked her old Singer sewing machine, and it felt a little pointless as she was busy, and I did not speak Spanish.
Advertised as $2 entry fee in my guide book, it was actually $5 to enter. About a third of the way round my self-guided tour of a mostly deserted place I was joined by a young fellow (and a stray dog) who told me a few tales and tried very hard to be informed and answer my questions. We rescued a bird that had fallen out of it's nest, made sure it had water on a hot day edging into the rainy season, took each other's pictures and generally made the best of a bad situation. Yes, of course I felt compelled to tip him; this was clearly his livelihood.
Must note that this was one of the few places that made reference to the black contributions to Panama, and there was a tiny cafe also celebrating this presence where I purchased us some sodas from a minimal selection and picked out some Panamanian coffee that was truly delicious.
Would I recommend people take time out of their visit to come here? Not unless there was some specific entertainment or festival happening during your Panama trip to liven the place up a bit. O.K. a lot....
Cheerless, shabby and dusty is not the memory you want to be taking home with you, now is it?

This site is a collection of housing and artifact replicas of the various cultures (old and modern) of Panama. While simple, it gives you a good idea that this relatively small country is formed by various ethnicities and and traditions that survive to this date.
The entry fee for foreigners is $3 USD and you get a free guide (optional). Depending on how much time you have, this can be good or bad; our guide was very passionate about his national history and customs, so he spent a lot of time telling us about everything - more than what we could absorb.
The collection of "polleras" (traditional dress) is beautiful. It takes more than one person and several months to make one. They can cost in the thousands of dollars!
If you only want an overview of the contents, plan on an hour an a half - there is some walking involved. If you want to really immerse yourself in each of the exhibits, plan on, at least, half a day.

Coming down from Cerro Ancon, we stopped in at Mi Pueblito. For $3 a person we figured that we couldn't go wrong.
It's a recreation of three parts of Panama. Sadly, there's barely anything worth seeing in any of the parts. You've got some houses put up with stuff to make it look like an old house, or old office, etc, inside. Some of the houses have absolutely nothing to see in them, and some of them are off-limits due to functions taking place.
I'm a big fan of places like these, as they often have interpreters (not language-wise, but interpreting the scene for you) or period actors. None of that exists here. There is a small museum that is interesting for a few minutes, but the only reason to stay in it more than 5 minutes is that it's air conditioned and sure feels good.
Overall, if I were walking by again, I'd just keep walking. I didn't even get $3/person value out of it.

I understand "mi pueblito" is going right now thru some economical problems, but it was a place where visitors and nationals could go and view a revival of the colonial interior, coastal (Caribbean) and Indigenous tribes lived. I hope the goverment invest on it and save it. It definetly was a very good place to visit.

This is a disappointing tourist trap. I believe it was designed to exhibit how Panamanians lived 100+ years ago but would be better served as a school outing for the local children. If a tourist is pressed for time, there are plenty of other more worthy venues to explore.

Located at the base of Cerro Ancon, this is a display of 3 kinds of villages; the colonial village, the Antillian-West Indian village, and the indigenous Indian village. We went late in the day and it was fairly deserted. There was a young man who took us on a little tour and gave short explanations. $5 admission and a tip for the guide.
I would recommend coming on the weekend when they have entertainment with folkloric groups. There are souvenir stores in each village as well as a restaurant.
Nice replica--especially if you have limited time in exploring the city.

This is a very good place to visit if you don't have the chance to visit the country side of Panama. The original part is still good, but the other parts that were added to represent the Kuna village and Afro-antillian traditions are deteriorated. That was caused by political retaliation because the major (of the former dicator's party) of the city left this area unmaintained as it was created and built as an initiative of the former major that belonged to the opposition party.
Quite frankly it is a shame that attractions and places that are for the wellbeing of ALL panamanians and tourists alike get disregarded due to political affiliations.
It is still a good place to visit though would be nice if it was restored to its former glory.
