The partial transit is plenty for most travelers. The whole experience is a curious blend of sightseeing, group activities, bus riding, boat riding and the like. Pleasant and interesting guides to explain the history and construction of the Canal. Going through the first step in the first lock had the entire group on its feet, running around taking pictures --... More

We took a partial transit tour on the Pacific Queen. We had to leave our hotel at 5:30am because the Panama Canal Authority controls all the ships and sets the times for the transits. However it was well worth the early rise. In fact we got to see the sunrise in the west not the east because of the position... More

Very interesting educational tour that gives you not only the history of the canal's construction but also the engineering genius that raises and lowers the water with out pumps.

We booked the Panama Canal partial transit tour northbound, on the Pacific Princess. It starts very early, we departed Flamenco Marina at 7:30am, but then after an information filled 6 hours ( including breakfast & lunch), loads of ships & people watching, you have your afternoon free.

It can be a bit of a touch and go story to book a tour in a foreign country via any website, but we were in Panama City with little time to spare and wanted a tour of the canal. I got on trip advisor and Viator was one of the few offered between Christmas and New Years. I booked... More

We booked a Panama Canal Partial Transit Tour from a Gamboa Tours representative at our resort, although the tour was actually run by a different tour company. Gamboa picked us up/dropped us off at our hotel and took us to the Flamenco Marina where we checked in and boarded a bus that took us to the city of Gamboa. We... More

Part of our tour package with Gamboa Tours. Packed into buses for the trip to Gamboa. Off loaded and got on the bus with some 300 others. Jammed in pretty good but hey, its all about the money right!? But the ride thru the 2 sets of locks was stunning. You watch the gates close, the water level go WAY... More

This was a really great trip. You travel through two locks of the Panama Canal. The lunch served was delicious!! Takes about 5+ hours. Be sure to bring sunscreen.

Great tour. On our day, the weather started out cloudy but about half way into the tour it started raining. We know the tour company can't control the weather so we made the best of it and still enjoyed our time on board. The Tour Specialist, Gus, narrated the tour and explained what we were seeing with some history thrown... More

We were supposed to be cruising through the whole canal which got cancelled - however this was offered instead. Being in the Panama Canal is impressive and seeing the huge container ships is pretty awesome. However the ship (Pacific Queen) was very tired, food was inedible and we were promised breakfast (8.30am) and lunch - which was served at 10.30... More
