Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ok. I had read the reviews about Veracruz and thought it would be miserable. Maybe because I had such low expectations it surprised me. Beach sand is course and beach is pretty narrow. Not many waves and water is a greenish grey. But still in a beautiful rustic area. There is small island in the distance. Nice stand up boards you can rent with classes. A lot of fun. They say on a calm day if you are good you can go out and go around the island. Beautiful views of the coastal mountain range. Eclectic atmosphere. Decent restaurants right along the beach. Was their trash...yes. Was the beach beautiful...not really. But for some reason the area had its own kind of charm that you can't put put your finger on. For the short 15 min ride from the city, worth a trip.

I will go again.

this is a beach for the local people with little specials to see. No particular reason to visit as tourist. Panama definitely has other places to see.

Very new clean resort. Food is excellent for and all inclusive resort. Three very large clean pools one with a swim up bar. The beach is very rocky with a small thin strip of course sand when the tide is in. Very few teenagers, mainly older couples or very young families. Staff is friendly and helpful, however English is a problem for them. Over all a very good resort and would recommend it highly.

There are thieves running around the more secluded parts of this beach and it is FILLED with trash. A warning to all tourists, I refuse to give this anymore than 1 star (should be ZERO) until local police clean up the trash (scum people). I was robbed at gun point with my wife. Once I start seeing news articles (feel free to send them to me) about police doing serious sweeps throughout the area this review will remain the same. I was robbed on a part of the beach near the cemetary and hospital. This level of "safety" is not accecptable.

I did not feel comfortable here at all and left shortly after arriving. The beaches are filthy and random (locals?) were following me. Even after turning around and staring at them head to toe they continued to trail me about 20-30 meters behind Within 30 minutes of arriving I got the heck out. Odd vibes, does not seem safe.

This beach area is not far from the city, on the Western side of the Panama Canal. The Panama Pacifico Special Economic Zone is nearby, growing into a city, and so are a Westin and Intercontinental hotel.
Still a weekend hotspot for locals, restaurants now attract visitors during the week and getting better. The food has always been great, but now the locations are being remodeled, surrounding areas cleaned up.
The beach itself is good for walking, swimming, stand-up paddling etc.

All the beaches in Panama City have starving dogs and trash everywhere! The dogs are heartbreaking. The country of Panama has a lot of work to do if they want to attract tourists.

Just 15 minutes over the Bridge of the Americas; a long beach with casual open air restaurants. Usually busy on weekends, and not open late at night. We go often to either KariMar or Veramar, the first and last on the beach. The food is good, the view is great. The beach and restaurants are just past the Intercontinental Hotel and about 1/2 mile before you get to the little town of Veracruz.

This used to be the stomping ground for the Military Americans based here. Slowly over time and even more so in the last 5 years, this stretch of beach is now dirty, filled with broken glass scattered everywhere ( although the authorities are trying to ban bottles on the beach) good luck with that. The locals that come here treat this place as they do everywhere else, like their personal garbage bin. Sad really as there are some good little restuarants here. There is also a high crime rate over this side of the bridge so be warned you will be stopped going in and coming out of the beach area by police looking for weapons, etc. Suggest to visitors to keep your trip there in the daytime.

Playa Veracruz is a beach on what was the back side of Albrook Air Force. It has a lot of little bars and restaurants that are on the beach. It can be very crowded on the Weekends. At different times of the year you can find shells. There are a lot of little areas around the beach that do not have sewer systems so the water there is questionable. I would not go swimming. When there is a VERY low tide you can walk to the island. Be careful as when the tide comes in it will come around the island from your back. If you wait too long when you want to come back the water will be deeper than you expected.
