The Canal and former Canal Zone represents an engineering marvel and American colonial architecture. On our must see list, the Canal did not disappoint. Our guide was excellent and always available for one-on-one. The food was typical (the rice is my go to food for these types of meals). Read "The Path Between the Seas" before you go and you... Transitting the Panama Canal has been on my bucket list for a couple of years, and as I didn't want to do a cruise, this half day tour with Panama Marine Adventures was perfect. I saw first hand what I had read about in 'Panama Canal by Cruise Ship' which includes the history of the building of the Panama Canal.... More

This is very nice trip across the Panama Canal. You can do the "short" or the "long" trip. If I would repeat it, I will take the short one. Another recommendation, is be patience with the time, if you take the tour from "Flamenco Marina" you will scheduled to 6:30 a.m. in my case, we leave almost 8:00 a.m. and... More

We chose to go all out and take the full tour. It is only offered once a month, but was worth it to us to plan our trip around the date it was available. Passing into the first set of locks and then through them was a very slow process!! Ok, each of the locks was a slow process. But... More

General tour score 4/10. Food rating 2/10. Boat score 7/10. Score time spent on the tour 1/10. I made the tour organized by Panama Marine Adventures on Sat October 8; I paid 90$+45$ plus some taxes = $ 142.50. The route is very interesting, you can see in detail the operation of the Panama Canal Locks Pedro Miguel and Miraflores... More

It was a great experience. It´s perfect to see and to know the Canal. You see huge ships, but you also have to wait a long time to pass through.

I did this tour about a month ago and booked it independently - directly with panama Marine adventures. The trip was $150 for the partial transit - though I think it is on Viator for $135. Our tour started from the Flamenco Marina off the Amador cuaseway (easy to take a taxi - around $10-$15). The check in is at... More

I never really "got" the Panama Canal - it's a canal! How cool can it be? Turns out it is way cool! I had just read the excellent book, Path Between the Seas by David McCullough, so I began our 6 hour tour with new-found interest. Seeing the canal function while enclosed in the lock with a giant tanker ship... More

This is the best tour I have ever done. Fantastic way to see the canal. I went in early to mid May . Very few people on the boat. Excellent commentary in English and Spanish. I did the partial northbound morning trip. Could be very crowded in high season but you could still get great views because you go into... More

I did the Panama Canal Partial Day Tour with friends. The tour lasted about 6 - 7 hours. The narrater was very good. It was really an eye-opener into the operation of the canal and it's importance in our everyday lives. Being on the ferry gave you an interesting perspective of the operation and the size of the ships passing... More
