A beautiful building with good archaeology & history exhibits. Even includes information about current issues like gangs and migration from El Salvador. Plus the museum cafe serves great expresso in a lovely setting.
The museum has lengthy descriptions in the Mayan history and the role of religion in the areas history. There is English translations of these sections. The artifacts are interesting. The museum was well worth the trip.
Lots to see and READ. Go with time carved out to read about the history of El Salvador. Not many places to sit in between the galleries, so when you see a sit take it and rest. I enjoyed the video montage of the hurt...More
The National museum, is expanding giving more options for tourist, not only the museam provides feedback of el salvador, but it also provides access to restaurants and cultural events. (for events check online previos to attending)
