Tram systems in Eastern Europe are diminishing. For those who love old world urban rail transportation, hop on one of Kiev's remaining trams and stop by this monument of times past.

Kiev is full of statues and small artifacts of the independence movement. This one is nothing special.

I came across this whilst walking along Volodymyrska Street. It is on the opposite side of the street from the Golden Gate about 200m in the direction of St Sophia's. It has only recently been erected (August 2015). Wonderfully intricate miniature monument, at eye level....More
