War museum, really impressive motherland monument, huge actually, you feel like tiny person under this statue. Nearby a big place with a fire. Definitely worth visiting this place too if you are in Kiev

The biggest museum in Ukraine devoted to WW2. Entrance fee is 20, for 50 you can get to the platform just below the statue's feet, for 200 - to the highest one. There are monuments and a lot of tanks and cannons on display close...More

We visited the Motherland Statue on a Tuesday evening when not many people were around it was fantastic to see it lit up towering over the city with the Dnieper and the other side of Kiev below a definite must see.
