Full-Day Tour of Chernobyl and Prypiat from Kyiv

1,307 reviews
Visiting Chernobyl, the nuclear power plant whose 1986 explosion was one of the world’s worst radio-ecological disasters, isn’t permitted unless by guided tour. This full-day trip from Kiev offers a hassle-free excursion and the essential commentary needed to understand the site and its catastrophic event. Explore the Chernobyl exclusion zone, and visit abandoned nearby towns, including Pripyat. Dinner at an eco-clean canteen is also included for your convenience.

The square is huge, spanning both sides of the world famous Khreshchatyk street, linked by the illustrious underground tunnels. Never a dull moment in this square, from revolutionary struggle, desperate flirtation and every manner of scam artist going. The square is Kyiv in all it's complexities. For photographers, there is no better place to talk street photos or people watch. It's the best entertainment in the city.

We finished our trip to Kiev with a nice stroll through the square on our last night. The tall tower dominates the sky, and the memorial at the bottom has such important significance. We loved the whole place lit up at night!

I have been to Ukraine for business and leisure many times, and a have a small tradition to visit Maidan Nezalezhnosti just to have a relaxed stroll there. The location is great and you have many good restaurants, coffee shops, stores, etc around, so everyone will something to do there. I recommend visiting this place!

This place holds a lot of stories from very recent times, it's lovely here. clean and has a lot of amenities, but watch out for the guys with monkeys and pigeons, they will try and get you to stop so they can plop one of their animals on you for a photo, then they will hound you for money... best advice, say no firmly and keep walking.... they will spot a tourist a mile off! they also sometimes dress up in costumes for a photo with you... just keep walking!
