Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This market has exceeded our expectations straight away. As soon as we came, we've noticed a great selection of local food and have started our little shopping. I must also say that people are very well organised, everyone enjoys their shopping at their own pace.
We found a gentleman selling fresh Cvarci (Serbian pork cracklings) still warm - the only place in Belgrade where we were able to buy it. I also recommend Serbian peppers marinated in garlic, so delicious!
This market is a must for exploring traditional Serbian food and simply for a high quality food shopping.

A very lively daily market selling all that's fresh from fruit to fish and vegetables.
Plus lots of plants and flowers, clothing, bicycle parts and more.
Meet the locals, have a coffee in the nearby pedestrian streets and enjoy the Danube.
Parking can be problematic but there are possibilities along the river.
Bring your dictionary, because this is not a touristy market, it's the beating heart of Zemun !

Yesterday I went to Zemun market or as we call it, the Zemunska Pijaca.
It is located in the Masaryk Square, as a matter of fact, the market sprawls across the historic Great and Masaryk Squares. To the east is situated the Quay of Liberation and the Danube River and backward from the market, to the west, lies the core of this picturesque Zemun Town with all its narrow streets, small restaurants, cafes and the other things. The market is not only multifunctional trading center, but it is a stage for public performances as well. Here You can find the vegetable, grain and very good and rich fish market. And there are a lot of stalls here, about five hundred of them, which makes this market one of the busiest markets in Belgrade. Just be prepared to go there early in the morning, maybe about six am to be ready when the stalls open.
The stalls are mobile and foldable and provide the locals and the people from the other regions of Belgrade and its suburbs with a wide range of fresh foods that come from this part of Serbia.
So You can walk or bike to the market along its cobblestoned streets and enjoy in the surroundings.
Really great time You might have, that's for sure !

If you like markets, don't miss this one. Pretty small, but the background of Zemun gives a great atmosphere to the place.

We came Sunday 9:30 and didn’t see/couldn’t find the mentioned flea market. But it was nice to walk amongst the produce stalls - fruit, veggies, meat, fish and other bits and pieces. This is not really a tourist destination but it’s nice to see if you like markets.

The market is 6 km from the center of Belgrade in historical Zemun right near the Danube. It is a genuine market place like in a fairy tale. Lots of fresh vegetables, fruit, dairy products, meat, clothes and other goods to meet primary needs. For this reason lots of ordinary local people with beautiful faces and outfits.
You can cycle or walk to the market. There also are frequent public buses from Belgrade center.

A visit to the Zemum is not complete, without strolling through the stalls of the local market, very similar to the green markets of the CBD, a bonus being the fresh fish vendors. Located in the centre of town it is hard to miss.
