Loki has changed the location since my last visit. The place looks the same, but the smell around it, is just horrible. There’s even a place to sit in front of it, but we couldn’t even finish our burger there, it was just unbearable.

Dorcol is historically on the edge of Belgrade - the place the next bunch of outsiders settle. It still feels like that kind of community. Lots to see, and eat and drink in.

After exploring main city centre amenities, I can highly recommend moving down from Knez Mihajlova into the streets of Dorcol. There are many old houses, lot of nice bars, restaurants, cafes and interesting shops. Many of bars and restaurants are open till late evening.

If Kneza Mihaila forms the central ridge of Belgrade, the slope to the east was the home to Turkish community; the area still has Ottoman overtones and the city centre's one remaining mosque.

Dorcol is not easy to define, as its borders are not fixed and there a few parts of this area that nowadays we consider everything bellow Vasina street. I found it as the most pleasant part of Belgrade that still has a great potential to...More
