The security kicked me out! Siriously?
Dec. 2015 • Solo
Totally dissappointed! I was really exsited to see the academy, but the security was really umpolite and made me leave. I was told that I am not allowed to enter, although I tried to speak serbian the best way I could. I don't think I will come again.

Great exhibition place
Jul. 2015 • Couples
We attended an excellent exhibition which combined a classical music recital. Naturally, one must have interest in art otherwise what would be the point of going there. We loved it. A great place right in the pedestrian section in Knez Mihailo Str. . For art lovers it is certainly an important place to visit when they have an exhibition. . As far as I could gather this is not a gallery and they do not have a permanent exhibition on show - check out whether there is anything on their calendar....

We like to visit Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts very often. It is part of the Academy building, one of the most visited galleries in the country. Entrance is free of charge. Some activities of the Gallery are organization of excellent art exhibitions, science exhibitions, concerts etc. Recommended!!

Not so relevant...
Nov. 2014 • Solo
Positioned along the central shopping street Knez Mihailova, this Serbian academy of science is absolutely one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, it depends how long you have available for sightseeing, if time is short I would skip it, Otherwise if you have spare time a short visit inside is due.

At the summer time must respect dress code
Jun. 2014 • Friends
At address Knez Mihailova 35, is the building of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. It was built in 1924 in the academic style with elements secesije.Rad Dragutin Djordjevic and Andre Stevanovic. The building houses the Library of the Academy, one of the richest in Belgrade, then the Archive of the Academy, with rich material on the history of Serbia and SASA Gallery on the ground floor, with a special lecture hall, bookstore and antique shop. Excellent blended into the architectural whole Knez Mihailova Street. To enter this institution must respect the dress code.

Perfection in any sence

Located in down town, Knez Mihajlova street, it is one of the attractions which no one visiting Belgrade should miss. Library was established by the Constitution of the Society of Serbian Letters, 1841. As stated at the official site of SANU/ SASA "The name of the Academy was officially introduced by the Law of November 1, 1886, but it was not the actual beginning of the Academy's work in Serbia. The Academy inherited the property of the Serbian Learned Society and continued its work. In 1892 two institutions merged and the Academy accepted the members of the Serbian Learned Society as its own either regular or honorary members. Thus, the development of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts cannot be presented without the learned societies that preceded it and from which it originated." Within the building there is a Gallery of SASA which is very active. At the moment (until Sept. 21st) you can visit very interesting exhibition of Mihailo Petrov drawings and prints. On their site you can find all relevant info regarding ongoing exhibitions or anything else regarding SASA. Opening hours for Gallery from April till October 15th is 11am to 10 pm, Thursday 11am to 4pm, Monday closed. No fee.

one of the most beautiful buildings in Belgrade
May 2012 • Family
Located in the city center and in a bussy knez mihajlova street meny times it gets neglected by russing pedestrians, since you do need to take a step or two back so you can see it in all its splendour.
In the evening pay special attention to the massive windows on the second floor since they are made of painted glass and if the light is on you can see the art.

It is possible to go inside but you have to be nice to the guards, and one of them has to go around with you.
