Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a lovely statue, located in Republic square.
The statue is usually a meeting place for groups visiting the city and it provides some lovely photo-ops.

This is the only statue I noted at the Republic Square. The Walking Tours start in front of this Monument.

Located near it are museums, restaurants, shops, etc. Note that there is a lot of constructions going on around this Monument!

Created by Italian sculptor Enrico Pazzi in 1882, this monument was erected in honor of Mihailo Obrenović III, Prince of Serbia. This bronze monument is centrally located in Republic Square.

Our guide said when people tell you to meet them at the square, they mean at the “horse”. Translated, this means to meet at the square with the statue of Prince Mihailo riding a horse. The statue was erected in 1882 in Republic Square Belgrade and is a memorial to the Prince Mihailo. Prince Mihailo liberated Serbia from Turkish domination. It was deemed a monument of great importance in 1979 and is now protected by the Republic of Serbia. Interestingly, it is the first monument of a person on a horse in Serbia. This is the square where the Turks executed convicts by hanging them in public view. Today, the square is the place to sip a drink, attend concerts and various performances or just hang with friends. Meet you at the “horse”

Prince Mihailo Monument looks pretty impressive in front of the National Museum of Serbia. It is worth stopping by to check out not only the monument but also the building!

Other reviews describe the statue as being covered in graffiti, which isn't the case. Maybe it's cleaned intermittently. There is certainly tagging on the plinth, much like much of Belgrade, which is a shame.

The Republic square is a nice setting. Busy with people. Lots of cafes.

Located in Trg Republic (Republic square) this excellent equine statue on a large plinth base.
The statue is in the middle of the square and is very imposing.
What I didn't like was all the all the graffiti over it (well maybe apart from the Slayer emblem as I'm a big fan of the band) but this was a part of the city scape that I didn't like. If it was standing still, it got tagged. It was a shame such a beautiful and great statue was treated by its population.
A very impressive statue that needs some tender loving care to bring it back to the glory it deserves.

The statue was very beautiful and magnificent. What I didn’t like is how it’s all in graffiti. The whole was in it, but at least statues must be taken care of better.

The setup there reminded me a lot of that small square in Latvia. The statue is beautiful and was perfectly placed in the heart of the small square!
