The interior is richly ornamented. With a wonderful iconastasis, radiant dome with frescoes and lovely stonework, it is admirable. The walls are lavishly decorated with biblical and holy scenes. It was founded by Mihai Cantacuzino, also repsonsible for the hospital adjacent. Completion time was around...More

Mihai Cantacuzino, a military leader and well-konw Romanian politician established a monastery in the late `7th century and in the early 1700s, the Coltea hospital. A few years before the hospital opened its doors, the current Coltea church was built in place of a much...More

Walking past from the outside you could just walk past it as a derelict building. No real signage and building needs some TLC. On going inside this small church has great architecture. It is over 370 years old and should de sold more from the...More

Colțea church was built in 1702 - same time as Colțea Hospital, which is spreading its wings aside of the church.

While this IS a 300 year-old church and its crumbling state is understandable, more should've been done to light it better in the evening, as it almost seems like a deserted building.

Biserica Coltea is one of several small churches that are either in or very close to Old Town. If you are walking through the area, then I would stop by to peek inside, but I wouldn't go out if my way to visit.

It worth to visit this church built in 1695-1698 by constable Mihai Cantacuzino. This church is in the middle of the town, next to Coltea Hospital.

A small church situated on a busy road near the hospital. It has some nice Paintings and the architecture is nice as with most of the churches in Bucharest. Worth a look if you are passing but not worth going out of your way to...More

This is a tiny church, located next to the impressive Coltea hospital. While its interiors are not that amazing, the fact that it has survived for over 3 centuries in this condition is impressive enough. Worth a 1-minute peek inside.
