As the years go by, Cismigiu Park ages like wine, becoming more and more charming, with old alleys lined by massive trees, historical spots and ancient memories.
It remains a place for a romantic stroll, a visit with family, or a break in the day for lunch, desert, or drinks.

Cișmigiu is one of Bucharest's most famous historic parks. It is, in fact, more of a botanical garden than an actual park, but its winding pathways and benches, as well as the artificial lake in the middle (that in winter is turned into a skating rink) make it very enjoyable for strolling and relaxing.

The oldest park in Bucharest. Not very big but beautiful. Shady alleys, flowers, old trees, some of them even centennial, playgrounds for children, a terrace where you can drink something, and a lake where you can take a boat ride (in winter transformed into an ice rink).

This is one of the most beautiful parks I ever walked through. It has a special atmosphere, due to the fact that it looks authentic and probably hasnt changed much over time. Many benches and even more green chairs (put in long, uninterrupted rows), so plenty space to sit. The park has different parts, all with a certain theme and atmosphere. Together with some restaurants and playgrounds for children, everything 'flows' together. In winter there is an ice skate area and many lights give it a wonderful atmosphere.
Definitely highly recommended when in Bucharest.

As someone born in Bucharest, Cișmigiu has always been a staple of the city. It's the biggest park in Central Bucharest, a literal breath of fresh air from the noisy chaos of the traffic all around. The artificial lake can be enjoyed by rowboat during the summer, or by ice skates in winter. Don't miss it when you're visiting town.

Iconic park in Bucharest, almost always packed with gangs of seniors playing chess. Perfect for a morning run if you're accommodated in a nearby hotel. You can run on the shady alleys around the lake, then grab a coffee from one of the coffee vans hidden under chestnut trees. It's also a good place to have a beer and read a book in an lazy summer afternoon. Cons: it's invaded by pigeons, so the alleys are sometimes covered in pigeon’s droppings.

A nice city park with a large pond with shaded paths. What I really noticed is the deferred maintenance. Most benches, some on the shaded (by trees) main path are really pretty, need sanding and painting. Some are sort of crumbling. There is a small garden with busts of Romanian literary figures but maintenance needed.
On the pond there is a pizzeria restaurant and one has a view of the pond. One can rent boats and pedalo boats.

I walked to the Parliament Building and found these beautiful gardens in the middle of the city. What a place!

There were many people, all in masks and social distancing as well as others paddling small boats in a lake. It was beautiful and refreshing.
