We spent a morning visiting this museum. It was great to see how the poorer people of the Romanian society lived. There were fine examples of embroidery and weaving; clothing made from sheepskin and other animal skins; stained glass painting; a wooden windmill and certain...More

This museum provides detailed information about Romanian peasant life. There are numerous artifacts displayed, providing an overview on the simple and spiritual life of Rural Romania. I would highly recommend renting the audio guide (12 lei). While there are some English information provided (i.e. fact...More

An incredible collection of traditional peasant artefacts, costumes and icons. Even some reconstructed buildings. Don't miss going downstairs to the exhibition of Soviet period land collectivisation which ironically destroyed the peasant way of life. Unfortunately there is no English signage here but the anti-propaganda cartoons...More

This is the most boring museum I've ever been to. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. They charge you 30 lei to take one photograph. I would never go back or recommend this museum. Avoid.

A very interesting museum, though the exhibitions are presented in a way that isn't very informative for visitors who don't know Romanian traditions well. A guide book, or ideally a guide, is recommended to make your visit worthwhile.

The guide books rave about this museum, but I found it quite disappointing. This is in part because I rented the English audio guide. The supercilious English voice almost immediately began to preach at me in a really off-putting way about the importance of Christian...More

This museum is definitely worth visiting and. as in your pocket says, its great for kids. I particularly liked it for the chaotic jumbled atmosphere, with endless interesting exhibits of all shapes, sizes and types stretching out for room after room after room. It is...More
