A bit of a time travel both by the concept and its installation but was well worth the visit recommended by Lonely Planet. Unfortunatelly taking photos is not allowed. On sunday we even had great tasting "mitches" and delicious sour "ciorba taraneasca" while looking around the flea market held on the courtyard and around the museum.

The museum collection was interesting in so far as it depicted the crafts of the Romanian peasant. However, there was not one display relating to traditional music and dance - a huge omission.

Convenient location in Piata Victoriei, Muzeul Taranului is the best place for those tourists trying to understand the history and traditional crafts of Romania. Highly recommended.

I could hardly wait for my first visit, and the ticket price seemed too low. When we finally got out, it seemed too expensive. Barely any explanations, the items are ill organized and displayed, the collections seem not complete. They have some hundreds of painted eggs under a glass surface and they added rough marker inventory numbers ON the delicate... More

Muzeul Taranului Roman is hosted in a monumental building, close to Victoriei Square. The exhibits presents the struggle of the history to preserve houses and churches from the traditional Romanian villages that are now close to become extinct as the modern civilisation is a treath to them. The most important and the most beautiful thing to see inside is the... More

the museum is full of great pieces, from recipes to a complete church! Every cultural aspect is depicted, from the begining of romania to the present era. There's even a secret place out of time if you can search for it !

This museum is very interesting if you really like to see traditional houses, cloths and their tools otherwise you'll be bored because It's a modest museum far from the downtown. The staff (too much the Museum) are not professional, I would say that they are volunteers because they are all time with their phones and they don't speak any other... More

One of my fave museums ever and have done alot all over the world. An eye fest I actually liked there being not much info to read. On the way out I purchased a book on the museum. My only criticism would be of the staff speaking loudly on their phones spoiling the atmosphere of the place.

At risk of sounding like an ignorant, ill-educated, protoplasmic buffoon, I don't feel that the Peasant Museum is a "Must See" attraction in Bucharest. On a visit during a two day trip to the capital I ventured to the Museum with my girlfriend after seeing high praise and recommendations in print and on TripAdvisor. The site offers two floors full... More
