Transylvania and Dracula's Castle Full Day Tour from Bucharest

No visit to Romania would be complete without ticking off Transylvania, where ancient castles are set against backdrops of dramatic rolling hills. See the best of the region without having to worry about car hire or navigation on a day trip from Bucharest, which offers a great introduction to local history for first-time visitors.

Awesome place to visit, even at this time. The entry fee for individuals is 45 RON and you need to book one of the tours in advance. On the website all tours are offered in a foreign language but the guides are Romanian (in case you're worried that none of the tours are in RO). They are very strict with the rules (shoes protection, number of people, disinfection, etc). The guide we had was very knowledgable so feel free to ask questions about anything. One of the things that caught my attention is that with the exception of some floors made of Canadian wood and some Portugues tiles, almost everything else was manufactured in Romania. Also the whole mansion was served by a staff of 12 and they had to leave the premises at 6pm. Anyway it's a very nice place to visit. Beware that there's hardly any parking space on Primaverii blvd if you want to arrive by personal car. There's no souvenir shop at the exit. The tour takes 45mins to visit 50 rooms out of 174.

The place is huge with complex artistic elements. The guide is patient and open and you are allowed to take photos. You get the experience to see how Ceausescu and his family lived day by day.
