Like the Upper town, plenty of sights and restaurants to keep you occupied for half day...squares here are much livelier because of the proximity to the train station

In general I found Zagreb unappealing. I didn't care for the heavy Hapsburg architecture, which was covered with ugly graffiti -- not mural art or interesting graffiti, just ugly scrawls. Lots of outdoor cafes, great ice cream, but that's about it.
