Nice wide sidewalks, friendly people, lots of cafes and restaurants. Walk by the botanical gardens to King Tomislav square, by the train station.

Walking the lower town streets was very interesting. Down the narrow streets to see the open market stalls, cafes, schools, and statues makes this area very colorful

I enjoyed the Lower town. It contained the beautiful Lenuci Horseshoe of squares and parks, restaurants, the main shopping area, lots of restaurants, cafes, bars, and supermarkets.

Zagreb was not a city that I thought would have a lot of beauty but for us it was a great place to start our tour of Croatia. The people are nice there is a lot of history good and bad.
