Funny building

A funny building in the outskirts of Sofia. Modern architecture used to build a multiple apartments house in snail shape. Lovely

Really interesting building said to have been built with all sustainable materials! It's worth a look if heading back to town from Boyana church. Check out the painted pavements and street lamps for eye stalks! Didn't access the interior as it appears to be in residential use -flats. Good fun. The village may also be worth a look around. If you are thinking of going to the mountain, you could pass by this. Nothing more, just strange, just funny. Cool for a different picture.

Waste of place and money. Building dirty and not used for anything. Nobody from the locals actually visits or likes this building. Do not visit it. Waste of time. Visit something else.

I decided to save people the pain of travelling far out of the centre to see an 'attraction' and ending up disappointed. In fact, the Snail House is no mean feat - it's an environmentally friendly PRIVATE HOME built by a businessman who wanted something different than to flaunt his money by splashing it on a palace with peacocks. It's... More

I had half a day to kill in Sofia, I'd seen the snail house on tripadvisor so I thought I'd go find it. It is a bit of a trek via tram and bus, though I probably didn't go the easiest way. The best way to get there is to get the metro to G M Dimitrov then the number... More

A surprising item on your way to the mountain :). Colourfull and crazy. As far as I know, nothing more special than seeing it from outside and feeling happy to have discovered something fun :).

Sightseeing in Sofia can be a little predictable. You know the drill: Church - Cathedral - Church - Cathedral - Mosque - Cathedral - Synagogue - Presidential Palace - Church - Church - Church - Roman ruins - Church... So I was rather curious to see Tripadvisor mention a "Snail Home". I thought it might be a museum, or an... More
