Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Emperor’s Mosque is Sarajevo’s oldest mosque and one of the oldest in Bosnia, after the Ottomans conquered the region. The present building has been built in the Ottoman style with the main dome resting on pendentives. Once inside, the outline of the pendentives are more obvious as they haven’t been covered with corbels for additional support as would be expected. The layout of the interior is fairly typical of Ottoman mosques. Corner honeycomb vaults have been built into each corner of the pendentive. A mihrab indicates the direction of Mecca. A minbar is to the right of the mihrab, painted in blue, green and gold. A circular chandelier hangs precariously, but safely as they always do in Ottoman style mosques.

Its a mosque from the Ottoman period and over 500 years old. Its has a lovely minaret and is one of the most beautiful in the city of Sarajevo. Its just over the Seher Cehajas (mayors bridge) in the Alifakovak neighborhood. A lovely mosque to visit.

if your room is facing the river, you will get to know its muezzin very well, as the prayers will lull you into sleep (or wake you if jet lagged). the large Mosque is beautiful and as many others in town, well attended. visitors are welcome (if properly dressed) but still watched with attention, lest them not mistake the lady's section to the left with the men to the right!

Sultan Fatih or Emperor's mosque is, after Gazi Husrev bey's, the most important mosque of Sarajevo. It was renovated few years ago. You can visit it with free admission and people working there (especially muezzin) will answer all your questions abour Islam. Modest clothing and head covering for women are required.

This mosque is one of the oldest in Sarajevo, dating back to the 16th century. It is actually more than just a mosque as it also includes an extensive graveyard of old Muslim gravestones. Some of these stone graves have a kind of stone turban on top. It is still a very active mosque today so you should be discreet. Modest dress is expected. There are signs saying you should not wear skimpy clothes. However, foreign tourists are welcome if they follow the dress code and other rules. The mosque is located to just outside the popular pedestrianised bazaar area.

First built in 1457, and rebuilt a number of times since, the Emperors Mosque is the oldest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in the region, and has a capacity of 500 people.
