Old fountain from time when Turks were here. It is on start of Bascarsija and to be honest it is hard to miss :)

This was quite beautiful but simple. People were cupping the water into their hands and drinking it. Well worth finding.

Announces the start of Baščaršija from the bus/tram stop end, iconic. Many people drinking from the fountain obviously hoping to return to Sarajevo in the future.

the iconic landmark of Sarajevo, it's always full of pigeons and tourists. Very nice all day, but especially at night.

Can't miss this fountain in the Old Town Market area. Alas, I did not drink from the fountain. I wish I'd known beforehand about the belief that if you drink from it twice you'll come back to Sarajevo, because it's a lovely, unique city!

Yes I had a drink from that fountain many years ago and there I am back in Sarajevo. So I do confirm that if you drink from the Sebilj you will come back to Sarajevo at some stage .
