Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Franciscan church and monastery of saint Anthony of Padua show Catholic presence in Sarajevo. Church is place for prayer to saint Anthony for many Catholic and non-Catholic Sarajevans. Inside church you will see modern art. Unfortunatelly, Franciscan friars after Second Vatican Council totally destroyed old altar and church interior (as it was not worthy at all) so today people visiting this place can't see it's first look. One of many Catholic churches were that happened.

This massive deep red church, and accompanying monastery are in quite an imposing location, with the tolling of the bells being heard for a distance.

This is a church bit out of the city centre. Average church. If you have time to spend and like churches you can visit.

The Church of St Anthony is quite a stunning building, with a bright red exterior, and unique in that it welcomes attendees from all faiths. It may be for this reason that it managed to survive the Bosnian War with minimal damage.

the large church and monastery sits a bit away from the old city and in front of the main brewery. quiet and welcoming, does not present any outstanding architectural beauty, but is an oasis for contemplative prayer

Today's Church of St. Anthony of Padua had been constructed between 1912 and 1914, designed by the famous architect Josip Vancas who was the author of Sarajevo's Cathedral and monastery and church in Fojnica too, as well as numerous public buildings in Sarajevo and other cities of the former Yugoslavia.

Its length is 31.2 m and its width is 18.5 m. The height of the central nave is 14.5 m. It has a 50 m tall belltower, with five bells (the heaviest hweig 4,015 kg). The organs date from 1925. The interior of the church contained four neo-gothic altars and a pulipt, and statues all made in the famous company Ferdinand Stuflesser from St. Ulrich, South Tyrol, Austria.

The interior was largely changed in the 1960s, when also stained glass windows by the Croatian artist Ivo Dulcic have been installed.

Interesting is also one of the statues outside the church, donated by Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria.

Amazing, big and unusual church on the side of the city. It’s worth to take a walk here. You won’t regret.

It is a Roman Catholic place of worship and a national monument of BiH. It is dedicated to the Franciscan friar Anthony of Padua. Was not able to go inside but the exterior is lovely. It is just down the street from the brewery.
