The Minsk Gates could be considered as Minsk's main landmark and a city symbol.
They stand right across the newly renovated railway station, and despite there's no gate, two twin semi-skyscrapers divided by a street resemble the entrance to the city.
The architecture is the massive Stalin's Empire style which in this case I'd call Soviet Art Deco style. They could be compared to Chrysler or Woolworth bldgs in NYC on a smaller scale.
On top of the left tower is a huge clock, while on the right one is Belarus coat of arms from the ex USSR era.

These buildings are twin tower blocks on the southern side of the city centre. They form a gateway, but there is no gate! They are very imposing and difficult to photograph as they are so tall.

Surprised it stays so low into ranking. My favourite spot of the city. Interesting in daytime, incredible at nighttime. A true symbol of the city!

Must take a picture with Minsk Gate if you are a first time visitor. It's iconic. Inside the gates are stores and shops (one of them is KFC). Both day and evening views are beautiful.

This is very neat to see. The Minsk City Gates are impressive, and an iconic part of your visit to this city.

Impressive imposing Soviet-era architecture - right opposite the main train station. Well worth a look.

Our accommodation was directly behind the Gates!

A landmark and a great example of Soviet architecture, also in the fact that they are run down at the back and on the inside... But definitely worth seeeing if you're in the vicinity of the train station.

This is a good example of architecture from the Soviet era. Nothing to get too excited about, but if you're already in the area there's no harm in taking a look.

Worth a quick stop to take a photo if you're near here - the buildings are right opposite the main railway station
