Nice in the city center

In the most important part of the city there is the oldest mosque in Tirana. I don t know if you can visit inside if you are not muslim. Outside there is a restaurant.

This mosque is right in the center of Tirana so you can't miss it. It's quite small so a visit should take no more than roughly 10 minutes if you don't go in for prayers. You're free to walk around and gaze at the beautifully painted ceiling and dome. Just remember to take of your shoes and cover shoulders and... More

A mosque worth visiting. It is located right on Skanderbeg Square. It is always open to visitors, except at prayer times which is true for all mosques. While other religious places were destroyed, this one was designated as a cultural not religious site and therefore was saved from demolition.

This mosque is very interesting to visit, beeing the only one survived to the comunist era in Albania, small with some frescos makes this an obligatory stop in Tirana.

Not that old, building started in 1789, it is one of a few survivors of a communist era. The building has a number of very nice frescoes on the outside as well as inside. It's a working mosque. Be aware to respect the building and its function. It is well worth your time to visit the inside. The front room... More

Step inside this small, unassuming mosque and you'll find incredible murals on every surface, right up into the dome. The paintings of an unidentified city are particularly interesting. Free.
