Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum collects precious and particular documents from the era of the dictatorship which are displayed alongside the tools used by the Albanian secret services to control dissidents or presumed dissidents. The documents are obviously all written in Albanian and therefore only accessible to those who know the language. In any case it is an atmospheric museum, the most significant in Tirana, and must absolutely be visited if you are in the Albanian capital,

This is a very interesting way to spend a couple of hours learning about this horrible period in this country’s history.
The exhibits are done. I was thankful that the commentary was also in English.
It is worth your time and money.

We really found this museum very interesting, but horrifying to realise how Albanian secret surveillance was carried out, and into quite recent times. It's worth a look if you can get past the suffering that many people endured at the hands of the secret police.

You can't take pictures there, no reason explained. I asked three staff members why visitors can't take pictures, even without flash, and none could me explain why not. "The ministry has this rule", was the only explanation.
How weird to have a rule without any explanation at a museum about Stalinism in Albania: it repeats the authoritarian way of communicating what this museum is all about; at the time of the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha there were dictates and no explanation at all.
Besides this: the museum is interesting though with no interactivity at all with visitors.

There is not much to see at this outdoor museum, maybe because it deals with "secrets". It could have been something, given the horror of that period of Albanian history.

This is a chilling monument to what those in power can do when they misuse their power and "watch" an entire society for the purpose of controlling individual and societal behavior. The technology is old but not forgotten. The end result must never be forgotten. Many young people today don't see the "harm" in giving up access to their personal data. HERE IS THE HARM! Worth time to visit and consider.

This is the second site to visit in central Tirana after BunkArt 2, which is located 100 metres away, if you are interested in the oppression conducted by the secret police during the communist dictatorship. However, whereas in BunkArt 2 photography is allowed, here it is not. That said, it is definitely worth a visit. Entrance is via the small door on the right of the fence and is 700 lek for adults. Only seniors over 70 get a discount. Entry is free on public holidays. The other listing on this site, House of Leaves, for the same attraction has far more reviews which may give you the information you're looking for.

Also on this site as House of leaves. It depicts in great detail the communist surveillance in the mid/late 20th century. Quite a lot of technical exhibits and good English content if you dont speak the local language.Worth a visit. Last Sunday of the month is free.

Extensive collection detailing the secret police surveillance of the population, camera, recording devices, copies of files, taped interviews give a sense of the oppressive atmosphere of Communist rule. No photos inside and sometimes English translations are limited.

Well organized museum where you follow the directions from room to room. Had an interesting chat with one of the staff who spoke good English. Also rather unusually for Albania the exhibits are well explained in English. Lots of interesting artefacts. Propaganda films from the Communist era are shown, and tv-interviews with victims made after the fall of the regime.
