While there may or may not be animals depending on when you go (which may or may not be a deterrent), the rest of the acts are very high-caliber. Their flying trapeze act is world renown, as they regularly pull off a quadruple back-tuck (though their special trapeze does make it a bit easier to do). They also have a... More

We asked were there any animals our guide told us there may be a dog doing counting. To our horror there was a pair of dancing black bears. Don't go

There are live bears in this, they are very thin sad looking things. Our whole group was pretty confronted by this. If it wasn't for the Bears I would give it 5 stars The people are amazing. But the Bears I can't get over it

Went for liberation day celebration. Was very impressed with the acrobatic performances but incredibly nervous the entire time. North Korea on the whole seems to be obsessed with grandiosity and dramatic effect- they really pushed the limits with their performers. Generally everyone completed their tricks safely and without complications. The contortionist in the first act, however, was unable to execute... More

We visited this hell hole earlier this week. After being told that there are no animals i was happy to go. But they brought out bears. (She was told that there was no animals). So not her fault. But i wish i never went. The bears were so thin and looked terrible. They are not looked after and have been straped... More

Naturally foreigners were segregated from locals - us outsiders were in the base of the circus theatre. The show was amazing. Those guys and girls could have made a mistake at any time and would have come out of it very badly, but they were amazing. I looked around at one point and everyone's mouth was open with astonishment. Initially,... More

Our tour group went here after returning from the DMZ earlier in the day so, needless to say, I was pretty tired upon arriving especially after an early morning & lots of time on the bus. Fortunately there was a lot happening in the circus show to keep one's attention. The acrobatics is phenomenal & increases in difficulty as the... More

Amazing acrobatics, trapeze etc. It really was superb. Horrifying animal acts, beware and DO NOT attend if you will get upset at seeing animals in a circus act. The bears....I honestly thought they were people in bear costumes because they were so human-like. How did they get like this? Presumably only as a result of terrible treatment from the trainers.... For me, Pyongyang had several highlights. The circus was one of them. The athletic ability of these performers is on par with anything you might see at Cirque de Soleil. Absolutely amazing!
