Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My guide gave me some history of the place. There were some kids hanging around which looked at me funny but seemed to lighten up (I was a white American in Mogadishu so I am sure everyone was surprised). WHen I turned to take a photo of a site across the street, a local began yelling at me and my guide. The guide then explained that we should leave soon. I did get a good photo of myself and the kids there at the tomb though. It seemed relatively safe as it was open space.

It is nice to stop by and take a photo of the monument. The ruins of the old parliament is next to it as well. I took a tuktuk to get there, not to get much attention.

Definitely a great spot to see some locals, take pictures. It's an iconic spot in Mogadishu for a photo memory.

This lonrely obelisk in Mogadishu is a somber tribute to the misery of this place. Suffering from the effects of time and conflict, the tomb stands in tribute to the soldiers of wars past and the trials they go through.

As I was working my route took me past the Monument, not much to see and unfortunately not able to halt and take a few pics. Mogadishu isn’t the happiest place at the moment, wouldn’t recommend visiting.
